No more buying sukiyaki sauce! Using turbinado sugar gives it a rich, delicious flavor. Of course, you can use regular sugar too! Background: I made this because I didn’t have any sukiyaki sauce on hand.

Simmer the sake and mirin to cook off the alcohol, then add the turbinado sugar and soy sauce. Stir until the sugar dissolves, and it’s ready!

Add to your sukiyaki whenever you like.

For the finishing touch, serve with udon noodles! If you do, dilute the sauce a bit with dashi broth for the perfect flavor.
