Homemade Brown Sugar Raisin Steamed Buns

Simple ingredients can create food with a natural taste. These brown sugar raisin steamed buns were born from this idea. Each ingredient is simply combined and steamed, resulting in a soft and tender appearance right out of the steamer, enticing us to dig in. Mix the hot water with the brown sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves. Set aside.

Prepare 2 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour. We are going to make brown sugar steamed buns.

Combine the all-purpose flour and yeast, then pour in the brown sugar water and knead into a dough.

The dough kneaded with brown sugar looks delicious, and it's a natural color.

Cover with plastic wrap and let it ferment at 95°F (35°C) for 40 minutes.

After taking out the dough, knead it to release air, then roll it out into a thin sheet.

Sprinkle raisins on top and roll it into a long strip.

Cut the long strip of dough into several equal pieces.

Prepare a pot with warm water, place a steamer lined with parchment paper inside, and put the cut dough pieces on top. Cover and let them ferment for another 40 minutes.

After 40 minutes, the dough will have expanded to about 1.5 times its size. Turn on the heat and steam for 12 minutes once the water starts boiling. When the time is up, turn off the heat immediately, do not open the lid, and let it sit for 5 to 8 minutes before opening the lid and removing the buns to cool.
