Ingredients

15 min
2-4 servings
  1. 1.5 tbspunsalted butter
  2. 1.5 tbspflour
  3. 1 cupchicken broth
  4. 1.5 cupshalf and half
  5. 1/2 cupwhite wine
  6. 1.5 tspItalian seasoning
  7. 1 tspboth onion and garlic powder
  8. 1 tspblack pepper
  9. 1/2 tspnutmeg
  10. 1 tspsalt
  11. 1 cuppre grated parmesean

Cooking Instructions

15 min
  1. 1

Melt butter on medium high heat

  2. 2

Throw in flour once butter has melted and whisk until it just starts turning brown

  3. 3

Pour broth in and whisk constantly so it makes a gravy and doesn't clump. Reduce heat to medium so you don't burn the gravy in the next step

  4. 4

Temper the half and half with your gravy (so it doesn't curdle) and whisk in half and half. Whisk in wine and seasonings. Turn to medium high until it's just about to boil

  5. 5

Add in cheese, whisk constantly so the cheese doesn't stick

  6. 6

Whisk until it's thickened, about the consistency of a thin gravy. It will thicken further as it cools. Taste and make sure you don't need any more adjustments. Enjoy!
