Steps
- 1
Step 1: Boil Tea and Spices
In a saucepan, combine water, tea leaves, and crushed cardamom pods.
Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Simmer 3–5 minutes until tea is dark and aromatic.
- 2
Step 2: Sweeten and Add Milk
Add sugar and stir until fully dissolved.
Pour in evaporated or whole milk.
Simmer gently for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Optional: add saffron or a small pinch of cinnamon for richer flavor.
- 3
Step 3: Strain and Serve
Strain tea into cups using a fine sieve.
Serve hot, ideally with small biscuits or dates.
Tips
✔ Simmer gently after adding milk. High heat can cause milk to curdle.
✔ Adjust sugar to taste — traditional Karak is quite sweet.
✔ Crushing cardamom slightly releases more flavor, making the tea aromatic without being overpowering.
