This is definitely a girl recipe! It's so pink its incredible!!! If you have any left overs, it starts turning into hot pink. There is a possibility that guys might be totally grossed out just because of the color, however if you are a married man reading this, and you are looking for a soothing side dish to go with your spicy main course for that special dinner you are making for your wife, you've got to make this! It's pretty to look at, definitely very feminine, and above all it tastes good!
I came across this recipe a very long time ago and when I tried to retrace my steps back, I could not remember where I found it, so I guess its been a very long time ago. This is such a simple recipe, the only hard work is the chopping and everything else just comes together!
On a health note, Beets are a rich source of antioxidants and nutrients, and apparently beet juice can lower Blood Pressure

Ingredients

  1. 2Beetroot - medium size
  2. 3/4 cupYogurt Unflavoured -
  3. 1/4 tspCumin Powder -
  4. 1/4 tspCoriander Powder -
  5. 1/4 or 1/2 tspChilli Powder -
  6. to tasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and peel the beetroots

  2. 2

    Then slice them into bite size chunks

  3. 3

    The smaller the better

  4. 4

    Boil the beets until they are soft, this should take 15-20mins

  5. 5

    In a seperate bowl stir in the 3 powders into your unflavoured yogurt

  6. 6

    Once the beets are done, drain and allow it to cool down a bit before you mix it in with the yogurt

  7. 7

    Add the required amount of salt

  8. 8

    Serve!
