This has been a favourite since childhood. Any day that I was upset, mom used to make this to cheer me up.

This has been a favourite since childhood. Any day that I was upset, mom used to make this to cheer me up.

Heat ghee in a cooker. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add the onions and the sugar. {the sugar helps the onion turn nice brown}. when the edges of the onion in brown, add the corn and the salt, chilli pwdr and turmeric powder. Mix well.

Add the pre-soaked rice {dont throw the water, add that to the cooker}

Put on the lid and let it take 2 whistles.

After the steam has settled open the lid add the capsicum and corriander and put the lid on for 5 min.

The rice is ready to be served.
