pre heat oven to 160ºc. Grease and line a 24 cm pan.

sift flour, cocoa, baking powder and bi carb soda into a bowl.

melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water, cool slightly.

beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add vanilla, then eggs 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Pour in cooled chocolate and beat until combined. Beat in a third of sifted ingredients and then milk, repeat until all ingredients are smooth.

pour mixture into the pan and bake for 45-55 minutes until risen. Cool on a rack.

Once cooled the cake can be split in half so that nutella can be spread between.

Melt cooking chocolate in microwave until fully melted. Spread the melted cooking chocolate on top of the cake. (Allow melted chocolate to drip down sides.)

Place in fridge till chocolate is set.

Take the cake out of the fridge to enjoy your delicious TimTam cake! :)
