Toast the almonds in the oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 20 minutes, then let them cool.

Break the chocolate into pieces and melt it using a double boiler.

Once the almonds are cool, finely chop them.

Separate the eggs. In a bowl, mix the egg yolks with the butter and half of the sugar.

Add the melted chocolate to the mixture.

Stir in the chopped almonds.

Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then add the remaining sugar.

Gently fold the egg whites into the batter, mixing from bottom to top.

Pour the batter into a greased and floured baking pan.

Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for about 1 hour.
