Ingredients

3 servings
  • For vada
  • 3/4 cup urad daal
  • 2/4 cup moong dal
  • 1 inchginger
  • As requiredOil for frying
  • As requiredWater for soaking
  • 1/4 tspHing (Asafoetida)
  • 1 tspcumin
  • For garnish
  • 1 cupthick curd
  • 4 tbsp imli chutney
  • Pinchroasted and ground cumin
  • To tasteSalt
  • To tasteMirch powder

Steps

    Soak both the dall separately for 7-8 hour. I used daal with chilka. In morning septate the chilka from the daal by rubbing by hand. For Me it tastes batter than ready made daal. U can take that too.😊

    Now grind moong daal in mixer. Moong dal should be grind in fine paste with the help of very little water and urad daal should not be so fine. Avoid using water while grinding the dal.

    Now keep both the daal in a big bowl mix them and beat by hand (very important) in a single direction till it become fluffy. Mux cumin into it. How to check:-Take enough water in a bowl and drop some portion of mixture in this water. If it float on the surface of water, it's a indication that daal is done.

    Heat Oil in wok. When oil is medium hot drop portion of daal in oil. Size of vada is totally depends upon ur wish. When vada is light brown take it out from oil. We will fry them one more time.

    When all the vada are done. Now fry them one more time till it become brown.

    Now soak it in hing and salt mix lukewarm water for at least 5 hours.sorry i forgot to click photo.

    Whisk curd in a big bowl add some sugar to it. Give a mix.now soak all the vada in curd before soaking squeeze thm with gentle hands. Keep these vada in curd at least for 4 hour.

    Now serving. Take sufficient quantity in a plate add mithi chutney and curd as per taste. Sprinkle some roasted cumin salt and chilli powder as per taste.
