Heat oil in a saucepan and fry 2 finely chopped onions till they turn golden brown.Remove and spread on a tissue paper.

Now add peeled and chopped garlic cloves in the oil and fry them till they turn golden brown. Add 1 cup soaked white lentils, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp turmeric, red chilli, 4 black pepper, 2 cinnamon and 4 cloves. Cook slightly for a while.

Add salt and 3 green chilies and 1 cup hot water, stir and cover the pan with the lid. Leave the pan on low flame. When the water dries off, keep it on a pan to simmer.

Now add finely chopped mint leaves, some chopped ginger, 3 finely chopped green chilies and 1 tbsp butter.

When the ingredients are all tender enough sprinkle fried onions, mint leaves and chopped green chilies, chopped ginger.

Bhuni Maash ki Daal is ready to be served..

Serve with roti
