Put chana dal in grinder with 1/4 of water and grind it.

Then add onion, ginger, green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, fennel seeds, salt and mix it up properly.

Now heat the oil in kadhai and from mixture give the shape like vada and deep fry it.

Served with any dip or chutney.
