In Germany plain Bretzel Dumplings are quite common, here I have adapted them to be eaten with dry fried curried pork strips and I have added some spices to suit the meal #NewYearNewYou

Crush the salted bretzel

Heat the milk and pour over the crushed bretzel. Add all spices, with a hand blitz or foot processor crush the mass down further.

Saute your onions, add to the bretzel and mash down further until you get consistency of a dough and you can form dumplings

In a pot bring salted water to a boil, then turn down to simmer, add the dumplings a few at a time, cook for about 4 to 5 minutes, gently turn them in between. Scoop them out and drain them in a sieve.

I cut the pork into strips, I then added some curry spices into a dry pan and carefully cooked the strips and 1/2 finely sliced onion in the spices. I added the dumplings to take on the flavours for a few minutes.
