Steps
- 1
Place the flour on your work surface in a mound and make a well in the center. Add the oil, butter, egg, and salt to the center.
- 2
Mix the ingredients in the center, gradually incorporating the flour. Add water a little at a time until a soft dough forms. Knead and slap the dough against the table several times until it becomes very elastic.
- 3
Divide the dough into 4 balls and let them rest, covered, on the counter for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare your chosen filling.
- 4
Roll out two balls of dough into circles large enough to line your pie pan.
- 5
Grease and flour the pan, then line it with one dough circle. Brush the dough with oil, then place the second dough circle on top so you have two layers of dough.
- 6
Add the filling, then roll out the remaining two dough balls. Cover the filling with one dough circle, brush with oil, and place the final dough circle on top.
- 7
Seal the edges with a decorative crimp.
- 8
Bake in a moderate to hot oven for about 40 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on your oven.
