This is another quick, easy, tasty recipe that's become a staple in my home. Boy Child loves it. Girl Child isn't as fond of it, but that's because she'd rather eat artificially-flavored shrimp ramen. Apparently she prefers chemicals to the real thing. She's seventeen. What can you do?
For dessert, I usually go with something light and fruity, like a fruit salad made with star fruit, Asian pear slices, and sliced bananas, drizzled with honey or agave nectar mixed with a little brown sugar and cinnamon.

Ingredients

4-servings
  • 1 lbshrimp , peeled and deveined
  • 2oranges Juice of large (navel or blood)
  • oneorange Zest of
  • 3 clovesgarlic , finely chopped
  • 3 tbspoil (olive or vegetable, but not motor)
  • 2 tspSriracha sauce (Thai hot chili sauce; more or less to taste)
  • 2 tspbasil dried
  • to tasteSalt pepper and
  • spring onions Diced (Americans call these green onions)
  • noodles Cooked (I usually use spaghetti, though soba or udon would be killer good here)
  • Veggies (shown here with salted, boiled edamame, a favorite of Boy Child)

Steps

  1. 1

    In saute pan, heat oil until hot. Add shrimp and next 7 ingredients. Stir until shrimp are translucently pink and start to curl up, well, like shrimp. This usually takes about ten minutes.

  2. 2

    Sprinkle diced spring (green) onions over the top of the shrimp.
