These tacos are very popular in Baja California, especially in Ensenada. Beer is used for the batter to give the shrimp a better flavor. If you don't want to use beer, you can use a can of non-alcoholic beer or sparkling water. This week, we'll add pickled onions, pico de gallo, and creamy guacamole.

Cooking Instructions

Start by preparing the batter. Mix all the dry ingredients (1 teaspoon of salt, pepper, garlic powder, baking powder, and flour), add the egg and beer, and beat everything together.

Season the shrimp with salt and pepper to taste. (I added 1/2 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of pepper).

Prepare a pan with very hot oil, gradually add the shrimp to the batter, and place them in the pan.

To serve, I made a delicious guacamole sauce that goes well with the shrimp, pico de gallo, and pickled onions, which I will be adding to my recipe collection this week.
