Litti chokha

Litti chokha is one of the popular dishes of Bihari cuisine. It is a traditional dish prepared for breakfast, lunch or dinner and is made using whole wheat flour with stuffing of roasted gram flour known as sattu and served dipped in ghee.
Sattu has many health benefits when consumed on empty stomach.
This litti goes perfect with chokha made up of roasted brinjal, potatoes and tomatoes mixed with onion and garlic with other chutneys.
This is a mouth watering dish and can be found in every corner of Bihar and has become very popular in all over India. Nowadays, littis are served in marriage parties, potluck, kitty parties and has become a compulsory dish for new year parties in many households of Bihar.
It is like a surprise when you will know that traditionally these littis and all the veggies for chokha are roasted on charcoal which makes it aromatic. Though there are many cooking methods. I made it on gas oven. Sharing my style for preparing this tasty food.
