Steps

Peel, chop and wash the butternut.

Fry the onions then add garlic & ginger. (Don't let the onions brown)

Put in the butternut, cumin and salt. Mix well.

Add water just enough to cover the butternut. Cover and let it come to a boil.

Let it cool then blend till smooth. Return the soup to the pan and heat it up for a few minutes. Serve while hot.
