I've been making this mushroom pie recipe for many years. I learned it from a friend in Paros, where I was vacationing. Ingredients

1 1/2- 2 hours
10-12 pieces
  • For the dough:
  • 3 cupsall-purpose flour
  • 10 tablespoonsoil
  • 1 packetbaking powder
  • 1 cupmilk
  • 1 pinchsalt
  • 1 pinchsugar
  • For the filling:
  • 1onion
  • 5 slicessmoked turkey
  • 4-5 slicesbacon
  • 1large package fresh mushrooms
  • 1small container light cream
  • 8-10 slicesGouda cheese
  • 1-2 tablespoonsolive oil
  • 1 pinchoregano

Steps

1 1/2- 2 hours

    Mix all the dough ingredients and knead. Let it rest in the refrigerator for an hour, wrapped in plastic wrap.

    Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Blanch the mushrooms for a few minutes, finely chopped, either alone to release their juices or in 1-2 tablespoons of well-heated olive oil. Add a pinch of oregano.

  3. 3

    In another pot, sauté the bacon with the onion, add the finely chopped turkey, and finally the cream. Add the mushrooms to this mixture and stir.

    Roll out the dough into a thick sheet and place it at the bottom of a greased 14.5x10.5 inch baking dish. Spread the mushroom filling on top, cover with the Gouda slices, and bake at 390°F for 20-30 minutes.
