I suddenly craved shumai and checked out how others make it. The flavor turned out great—so happy! This was my first time wrapping shumai, so they don't look perfect yet.

I suddenly craved shumai and checked out how others make it. The flavor turned out great—so happy! This was my first time wrapping shumai, so they don't look perfect yet.

Marinate the ground pork with soy sauce and 1/4 cup cornstarch (about 50g) for 5 minutes. Blend in a food processor until smooth and set aside.

Marinate the shrimp with rice wine and 1/4 cup cornstarch (about 50g) for 5 minutes. Blend in a food processor until it forms a paste and set aside.

Soak the shiitake mushrooms in water until soft, remove the stems, and finely chop.

Combine the pork mixture, shrimp paste, and chopped mushrooms. Mix well.

Place a spoonful of the filling onto each dumpling wrapper and shape into shumai.

Steam in a rice cooker or steamer for 20 minutes until cooked through.
