Mathri is made and loved in almost every household. There are so many ways to make mathri that it's hard to count, and the best part is, every method is delicious. Today, I made black pepper mathri. These are small, look beautiful, and taste delicious.
Steps
- 1
Sift the chickpea flour and all-purpose flour together. Add carom seeds, salt, and ghee for shortening, and mix well.
- 2
Gradually add a little water and knead into a stiff dough. Do not knead until completely smooth—just bring the dough together and mix lightly. Cover and let rest for 15 minutes.
- 3
Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball slightly and press a black peppercorn into the center.
- 4
Fry the mathris on low heat until golden and crisp.
- 5
Your delicious mathris are ready. Once cooled, store them in an airtight container. Enjoy them with hot tea whenever you like.
