Puffed Grain "Ninjin" Chocolate Truffles

I liked the puffed grain "Wheat Choco" and I wondered if I could make something using "Ninjin". The first time I made this was for Valentines Day in high school. I bought an ice cream sugar cone, coated the inside with melted chocolate, and stuck the "Ninjin" Chocolate Truffles on top like a real ice cream cone. That really takes me back...
The "Ninjin" can break apart easily when mixing so please be careful. Please use whatever chocolate you like, from bitter to white. Try various toppings as well, such as nuts, dragees, chocolate sprinkles, etc. Recipe by Ukkiitaro

Steps
- 1
Here are the ingredients. That's it. "Ninjin" is delicious even on it's own.
- 2
Break up the chocolate bars into small pieces and melt in a double boiler.
- 3
Remove from the double boiler, add the "Ninjin" and mix. Be careful not to break the "Ninjin"!
- 4
Use a spoon to scoop out about 2 cm-sized pieces onto a plate. It's okay if the shapes are a little crooked here!! Store them in the refrigerator on the plate for 3 or 4 minutes.
- 5
Once the outsides have set a bit roll around in your hands with your desired toppings and make an oval shape (just like making regular truffles).
- 6
And they're complete. For the toppings I used cocoa powder, coconut, and colored sprinkles. I made these as a present for a friend whose child is starting school.
