Easy Apple Cake with 15 Minute Prep

I adopted the "apple kuchen" recipe from a book that came with my oven, and made my original less sweet and lower calorie recipe by reducing the amount of sugar and oil.

-If you want to avoid sifting the flour, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and stir it with a whisk!
-At Step 7, you may feel like there is not enough batter for a 18-cm size pan, but do not worry, it will rise and will be just fine.
-If it looks like the cake may burn while baking, cover it with a piece of aluminum foil. Recipe by Kagecchi

Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 1Apple
  2. 150 grams* Cake flour
  3. 1 tsp* Baking powder (it won't rise if it's too old)
  4. 1Egg
  5. 80 gramsSugar (caster sugar)
  6. 60 gramsButter (margarine)
  7. 3 tbspMilk
  8. 2 tbspLemon juice

Steps

    Prepare the cake pan by lining it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Cut the apple into 6 equal wedges, make about 5 slits on the wider side, and sprinkle on the lemon juice evenly.

    Microwave the butter until soft (repeat microwaving at 500 W for 30 seconds).

  4. 4

    Preheat the oven to 180℃ at this point.

  5. 5

    Add the butter in a bowl. While stirring with a whisk, add the sugar, and the beaten egg in 2-3 batches in that order.

  6. 6

    Change to a rubber spatula, fold in half of the * dry ingredients and the milk. Fold in the remaining dry ingredients and mix it gently.

  7. 7

    Pour the batter into a pan while flattening the surface. Place the prepared apple wedges in a circular pattern.

  8. 8

    Once the oven is heated, bake the batter at 180℃ for 40-50 minutes. When it is done, take it out from the pan, cool it completely, and sprinkle on some confectioners' sugar and it is done.
