Karela/ Bitter gourds are an extremely low carbohydrates food than can be added both in #keto and #lowcarb diet. Karela is gluten free also.
I have made fried karela and potato. We know , potatoes are rich in carbohydrates. But I used a medium potato whose net carb is 23 gram only. I used potato to get rid of bitterness of bitter gourd for my children in my village.

Gather all required ingredients.

Heat oil in a wok. Add mustard seeds and allow to crackle them.

Add karela and stir fry till softened to lessen bitterness.

Add salt and turmeric powder and coat well.
- 5
Mix onion, chopped chili and fry till onions soft.
- 6
Add chopped aloo, mix well and cook covered till done. Switch off the flame and add roasted cumin powder and coat well. Serve with steamed Rice.
