Paneer is one of the best sources of protein. People of all ages enjoy both sweet and savory dishes made with it. I made Kadai Paneer according to my family's taste, and it's a very delicious dish. I did not add bell pepper because my family does not prefer it with paneer or cloves.

Ingredients

30 minutes
Serves 4 servings
  • 10.5 ozpaneer (about 300 grams)
  • 1/4 cupchopped green onion
  • 4-5 tablespoonsbutter
  • 1 tablespoonmustard oil
  • 2roughly chopped tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoonginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tablespoonchopped cilantro and green peas
  • 7-8cashews
  • 2green cardamom pods
  • 2cloves
  • 4black peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoonKitchen King masala
  • as neededTurmeric powder and coriander powder,
  • as neededCumin powder and Kashmiri red chili powder,
  • 1 teaspoondried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
  • Salt, to taste

Steps

    Cut the onions and paneer into pieces.

    Turn on the stove and heat oil and butter in a kadai (wok). Add the onions and sauté. Then add tomatoes, cashews, and whole spices, and sauté again. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool, then blend it into a paste. In the same kadai, sauté the chopped onions, then add the ginger-garlic paste.

    Add all the spices and 1 tablespoon water. Mix well and sauté.

    Add the blended paste and cook until the oil separates. Add the paneer pieces, mix well, then add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 5 minutes. Add salt and mix. Crush the dried fenugreek leaves and add them, then turn off the heat.

    Garnish with blanched green peas and cilantro, then serve.
