It's an excellent one to make during Winters when this is available abundantly in all the Indian markets. Indian Gooseberry or Amla is a powerhouse of essential nutrients and Vitamin C. It's enjoyed across the Country in a variety of ways. Jams and Jellies, Pickles, Chutneys, Murabbas etc to name a few. Since it's Seasonal, it can be made in large quantities and stored. Amla Candy is one such easy option to make for our Children. And not only is it easy to make, it's full of nutritional benefits. We can eat them on a regular basis and utilise all the goodness of Amla.

Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps

10 minutes
  1. 1

First of all, it's important to boil Amla for about 10 minutes. Do not over boil them. Otherwise they might become too soft.

  2. 2

After they are at room temperature, pluck out the segments carefully. They will come out very easily. Now comes the most important part of drying them under the Sun.

  3. 3

Dry them in the sunlight for nearly 2 days. That's it. They will be perfectly dried yet soft and chewy. They shouldn't be very hard.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
