Dill leaves or shepu as called in marathi is a healthy and tasty green vegetable. Not many are a fan of these leaves. But it's my favorite after methi/fenugreek leaves. And I make sure that i prepare it for my family whenever it's in season.

Ingredients

30mins
4 people
  • 1 bunchdill leaves
  • 3-4green chillies
  • 5-6garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cupmoong dal
  • Salt as per taste
  • 2 tspoil
  • Pinchasofotida /hing
  • 1/4 teaspoonturmeric powder
  • 2 tablespooncrushed peanuts
  • 1/2 cupwater for cooking

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash and soak the moong dal in water for 10mins.

    Wash and chop the dill leaves.

    Heat oil in a pan and add hing,crushed garlic, sliced green chillies and saute.

  4. 4

    Add soaked moong dal, saute and add 1/4 water first to cook the dal. Cover with a shallow lid on plate and keep some water in it to prevent the dal from drying out.

    After the moong dal is cooked nicely,add the chopped dill leaves and crushed peanuts.

    Let it cook for 10mins. Serve with jowar bhakri or chapati.
