Spicy Red Mutton Gravy

#cookpadindia
This spicy and scrumptious Mutton gravy is a perfect one from my maternal home. It is quite an easy recipe like any other spicy Mutton preparation, with a few twists in method steps and a lots of spices in the list. This uses spices which are added freshly ground or as a paste enhancing the taste and aroma of the Gravy. Mutton or Lamb cuts are slow cooked after marinated with spices and Yoghurt and kept aside for around half to one hour. It's a semi thick consistency Gravy. So keep that in mind and cook until done. Do not use much water as meat usually leaves some water. Also it has Yoghurt. So it should be kept in mind while adding it. The cooked Gravy looks so appealing and therefore is a must try for all Mutton lovers.

Steps
- 1
Marinate the Mutton pieces with Red Chilli powder, Paprika powder, Ginger garlic paste, Cumin powder, Salt and Yoghurt. Set aside for an hour.
- 2
In a cooking pot or a Pressure Cooker, add Oil and fry the Mutton pieces for 10 minutes. Now saute Onions. Also add Gnger garlic paste and green chillies and saute till the Onions turn golden brown in colour. Add Coriander and Turmeric powders and saute till Oil oozes out.
- 3
Add pureed Tomatoes and Garam Masala. Mix well, add 2 cups of water and bring it to a boil on a high heat. Cover and cook on a low heat for almost an hour. Cook until it's done to a semi thick consistency Gravy. That's it. Serve with Naans or Pulao. It tastes yummy with Hyderabadi Baghara Khana.
