Cardamon Tea ~ Indian Chai

At my family's home in India, this tea is often served to guests. I've been drinking ginger chai a lot recently, so I made this for the first time in a while. It is wonderfully fragrant, so it's n ideal tea for refreshing you body and soul.

You don't have to crush the whole cardamons to powder.
If you add more sugar than usual, it will taste more authentic.
If you leave the pan that you boiled the cardamon for a while without washing it, the kitchen will become filled with the scent of cardamon, making you happy. Recipe by Plabar

Ingredients

3 servings
  1. 500 mlWater
  2. 100 mlMilk
  3. 2 tbspSugar
  4. 2whole, or 1/2 teaspoon powdered Cardamon
  5. 2Teabags

Steps

  1. 1

    Crush the whole cardamons lightly with the side of a knife.

    Put the cardamon and water in a pan and bring to a boil.

    When the water is boiling, add the tea bags.

    When the tea has been extracted, add the milk.

    When the milk tea comes to a boil and is foaming, turn off the heat before it boils over. Add the sugar and mix to dissolve. Strain the milk tea through a tea strainer into cups.

    Done. Enjoy while piping hot.
