Sweet Potato Steamed Bread (for Infants)

This is a variation of my steamed banana bread.
The steaming time will vary according to the size of the cup used and the amount made, so check on it after steaming for 10 minutes, and then make adjustments from there while keeping an eye on it.
One 200 g bag makes about 8 servings. You can freeze the leftovers, so this is convenient for breakfast or as a snack. Recipe by Banyangarden

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Turn on the steamer to warm it up.
- 2
Add the sweet potatoes to the prepared steamer, and steam for about 15 minutes. (Stick it with a toothpick, and it is ready to use if it goes through!)
- 3
Peel the skins from the sweet potatoes, and cut into 5~8mm cubes. They will be hot freshly steamed, so be careful not to burn yourself.
- 4
Turn the steamer back on to warm it up.
- 5
Crack an egg into a bowl and whisk, add in the milk, and stir together.
- 6
Add the pancake mix to the bowl from step 5 and mix, finally add in the steamed sweet potatoes, and give it a quick stir while taking care not to smash the sweet potatoes.
- 7
Fill the cup 70~80% full with pancake mix.
- 8
Line them up in the prepared steamer, and steam for about 10~15 minutes. Stick them with a toothpick, and they are done if it comes out clean.
- 9
Please make these with formula for babies that are not yet drinking cow's milk.
- 10
I used a 200 g bag of pancake mix.
- 11
The recommended amount of sweet potatoes, eggs, milk, and pancake mix combination is about 25 g per 1/4 of the mixture.
- 12
I recommend dividing up the batter before adding in the sweet potato and then adding something different to each batch. Then, you can make several different types of steamed bread at once.

My son helps me out prepare these. The container I used was a 236 ml round Ziploc container. Because I used a very ripe banana, it was sweet enough even without sugar. Sweet Potato Bread Sweet Potato Bread
This is my favorite bread that I've been making for many years. The dough is soft. Use 190 ml water and dust your workspace with a little flour if it's difficult to handle. Pinch the seam tightly after filling the dough with the paste. If the paste is soft, it may leak out. Add in as much as you like (the photo shows 25 g x 14 = 350 g). Steamed Bread with Chestnuts, Sweet Potatoes, and Kabocha Squash Steamed Bread with Chestnuts, Sweet Potatoes, and Kabocha Squash
I love sweet potatoes, chestnuts and kabocha! I came up with this easy recipe so I could eat these ingredients at any time I want. The steam will make you happy when you lift the lid. To top it off, the calories are much lower than eating a cake. You can enjoy these without any guilt. If you mix too long at Step 5, the bread will come out firm. It's best to enjoy these after they have cooled. Consume by the end of next day. If you store them in the refrigerator, put in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Enjoy trying other toppings. Recipe by Choco makaron cookpad.japan -
