Hyderabadi Peech or Peench

It's called Peench or Peech in local Hyderabadi dialect. In other words this is a simple one with nothing but only that of cooked Rice water and little Salt. Look at the thick water that's collected while draining the cooked Rice. This one is Starch and is still a poor man's food. For those less fortunate one's, this is the food with some Onion chunks and Green Chillies that is if at all they can afford.
This is extremely beneficial for people suffering from dehydration and fever. It's an easy one that calms and soothes the irritating Stomach lining. It not only gives strength to an ailing person but it also provides a better immunity to fight against the antibodies. This contains Starch which is an important source of energy. Starchy food provides B Vitamins, Iron, Calcium and Folate. It's a myth that it makes us fat. All in all, a very easy energetic food that keeps you full while you recover.

Steps
- 1
Wash and soak Rice as required. Cook with enough drinking water on a medium high heat. Add some Salt accordingly. You can skip here and add later to the water if desired.
- 2
Keep stirring it as and when required. After it is cooked, drain the remaining thick water or Peech as it's called here.
- 3
Stir in some Salt and serve it right away. You will love to sip it. This can also be served with chopped Coriander Leaves too just for a lovely flavour. It's purely optional.
