Steps

Soak rice for few hours.

Peel and slice the onions.

Cut the chillies and mint.

Grind peppercorns,1 ts caraway seeds,cumin,cloves and both the cardamoms.

Heat oil in a pan.

Add in onions and fry till light golden.

Take out half of the onions.

Add salt,peas,ginger,garlic,chilli powder and coriander powder,and fry them.

Add chicken and fry again.

Now add yoghurt and cover the pan till chicken is tender.

Now add ground masala.

Boil rice with whole garam masala,1 tsp caraway seeds,bay leaves and salt.

Spread the layer of rice,chicken,fried onions,mint leaves and green chillies.

Repeat the process till all the ingredients are finished.

Lastly add in colour and kewra.

Cook covered on dum for 10-15 minutes.

Serve with raita and salad.
