Ingredients

50-60 minutes

  1. 1 1/2 TeaspoonBaking powder -
  2. 1 1/2 cupAll-purpose flour (sifted)
  3. 1/2 cupUnsalted butter -
  4. ½ Teaspoon Vanilla essence
  5. ½ cupMilk
  6. 2Eggs -
  7. 1 cupSugar -
  8. 1/4 TeaspoonSalt -
  9. 3/4 cupSliced strawberries for the layers -
  10. as requiredWhole cherries or strawberries to garnish
  11. as requiredWhite chocolate shavings to garnish
  12. 2 TablespoonFor Syrup: Confectioner's Sugar -
  13. 3 TablespoonHot water -
  14. 1/4 TeaspoonVanilla extract -
  15. 400 mlFor Frosting: Whipping cream -
  16. 2 TablespoonConfectioner's Sugar -
  17. 1 TeaspoonVanilla extract -

Steps

50-60 minutes
  1. 1

    Preheat the oven to 375°F. Arrange two 8-inch cake pan with parchment paper.
    In a large mixing bowl, combine together the cake flour, baking powder, and salt.

    Add in the butter as 3 to 4 batches(1-2 teaspoons at a time). Beat until the mixture resembles coarse sand, using an electric mixer set on low speed.

    Add in the sugar as batches(1-2 tablespoon at a time). Beat until the mixture resembles fine damp sand.
    Add eggs one at a time, beat well after each addition. Add in the vanilla, milk and beat just until blended. Do not over-beat.

    Divide the batter among the prepared pans and bake until a wooden skewer inserted in the center comes out clean for about 25 to 35 minutes.

    Remove the pan from oven and cool for 5 minutes. Remove the cake from pan and remove the parchment paper.

    Cool completely on a wire rack.

    Preparation:

    In a bowl, whip the cream with confectioner's sugar and vanilla using an electric mixer set on medium-high speed. Keep it aside.
    Sugar Syrup Preparation:

    In a bowl, mix together the hot water, sugar and vanilla until the sugar is dissolved. Set aside.

    Decorating Cake:

    Once the cake is cooled, level the cakes. If you need, remove the sides(brown parts) too.
    Spread a scoop of whipped cream in the cake base. on the top. Layer the whipped cream followed by a layer of sliced strawberries.

    Cover the strawberries with some more whipped cream. Then place the second cake(the leveled side down position).
    Then drizzle or brush syrup generously on the top.
    Then coat the entire cake with whipped cream. Keep it in freezer for 5 minutes.
    Then decorate the cake with white chocolate shavings and cherries or strawberries.
    Chill the cake for 10 minutes and enjoy the yummy white forest cake.
