What's better than a heart warming curry on a cold Joburg evening?! I'll tell you...nothing 😂❤️

Dice the onions, carrots, sweet potatoes and add into a hot pan with canola oil.

Add herbs, spices, turmeric, salt and pepper and curry powder. Simmer until vegetables have slightly softened.

Add your chicken pieces and mix. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Lower heat and let simmer until chicken is cooked through.

For the Dombolo (steam bread); add self raising flour in a mixing bowl, add sugar, add salt and pepper. Mix ingredients together before adding lukewarm water. Form a ball and Knead slightly. Allow to rest for 15min.

Take your Dombolo mixture and cut into 4 sections. Carefully mold each section into a ball (doesn't have to be perfect), and add directly into your curry pot. Cover the pot tightly so not to allow any steam to escape(the steam cooks the bread)

Leave the pot tightly closed without opening to check for approx 25min on a medium to low heat. Check if the Dombolo is firm and cooked through with a knife or a clean toothpick. Dish up and garnish with dried herbs. Enjoy!!
