Orange Lolli Bar

I still get excited finding some of my childhood food. I actually scream with excitement. Nothing can beat the thrill of finding a few of them in some corner of the city once in a while. These food memories definitely make us feel glad to be a part of that generation who have tasted the coolest food products ever!! No sophistication, simple yet my favourite!! Sharing with you all, some of my "brandless" food items I used to enjoy in my childhood .
Orange Lolli Bars, oh my God small ice cream bar he used to bring. We would stand outside the school and as the school used to get over, all kids would surround him and shout. We used to get pocket money from home specially to buy this. We would lick and rub it on lips to get the orange colour. I am writing and still my mouth is watering , waiting for it to set in freezer.
Finally the wait got over.
It got frozen and it really tasted good.
Almost the same taste!! Have a look. #mychildhoodrecipe #sangitakalra

Steps
- 1
Take cornflour add water to it.mix to make a lump free liquid.
Here I am taking ready to use orange juice as oranges are not in season yet.
In a vessel add 2 cups water boil, add sugar and cook till 5 minutes.Add the colour to it mix nicely - 2
Now pour the cornflour mixture, keep stirring constantly so that cornflour does become lumpy. You will notice you get a very nice thick liquid. Now at this stage add the orange juice.cook for five minutes. Then switch off the gas add in the lemon zest and the essence.I used lemon zest as oranges are not available and lemon too gives almost the same hint. Now add lemon juice mix all together and let it cool.

Then pour them in the ice cream moulds put the sticks, cover with foil, mine already had the stick attached to it. And freeze.
Believe me,this took me back to my childhood n got me nostalgic!! How many of you also use to have this in your child hood?? Do let me know. - 4
Notes
While putting lemon jest,be very careful while grating, the white skin of the lemon should not grate along the yellow skin.,. else it might make it a bit bitter
