Hunter beef is the Pakistani take on salted dried meat, or corned beef. The strips of meat are used in sandwiches eaten for breakfast, or with evening tea.
Hunter beef is not cooked over coals or on a wood fire, but rather needs a days until it has been prepared. A large piece of beef is marinated in various spices, including crystallized salt (kalmi shora), black pepper, cane sugar, Imli pulp and black pepper for four to five days, and then boiled.

Ingredients

2 hrs & 30 min
5 to 6 people
  1. 2 kgMeat loaf
  2. 4 TspKalmi shora
  3. 1 cupjaggery (gur) crushed
  4. 1 cuptamarind pulp
  5. 1 tspsalt
  6. 2 Tspchrushed black pepper

Steps

2 hrs & 30 min
  1. 1

    First wash & marinate meat loaf with all above ingredients.. prick meat with fork & knife..

    Cover it with all marination completely, press it with hands..

    Now first keep it in on kitchen counter for 6 hrs then again prick it.. cover with lid & place it in fridge for 1 day after 10 hours again take it & upside down it prick it & again put in fridge repeat this for 2 days..

    Marinate it for 48 hours..then take it out remove excess water put in pressure cooker add 1 cup water & cover the lid cook it on high flame for 5 min when 1st whistle then cook it on very very slow flame for 2 hrs & 30 min..

    Taaddaaa your yummy juicy Hunter beef is ready..

    When it cools cut strips or slices as you like.. at this stage you can freeze it.. when ever wants take it out..
    Fry it in pan with black pepper.. enjoy with buns, toast in salads.. etc
