These biscuits made with butter and green onions are delicious. They are very popular in the United States.

In a bowl, mix the dry ingredients together.

Cut the butter into the flour with your fingers until the mixture forms small pea-sized crumbs.

Mix the green onions into the flour mixture.

Gradually add the milk and mix just until a dough forms. Only add enough milk to bring the dough together; you may have a little milk left over.

Place the dough in the refrigerator to rest for 20 minutes.

Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough to about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick.

Use a 2 1/2 inch (6.5 cm) biscuit cutter to cut circles from the dough and place them on a baking sheet greased with a little butter or lined with parchment paper. You should get about 8 thick biscuits or 12 thinner ones.

Melt a little butter and brush it over the tops of the biscuits. Preheat the oven to 440°F (226°C).

Bake the biscuits for 18 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
