Til Gur Laddoo

Til ke laddu or sesame ladoos are traditional Indian sweet balls made with sesame seeds, jaggery and cardamom powder. These sweet balls not only taste delicious with a nutty aroma but are also rich in iron & calcium. I have added peanuts and coconut powder to it to give them more nutty and nutritious flavours.

Steps
- 1
In a pan take sesame seeds and roast them on slow flame till aromatic but do not change the colour. You will start hearing popping sound while roasting means they have done. Take out in a bowl.
- 2
Now in same pan roast the peanuts till they become crunchy on slow flame. Now take out in a bowl. In the same pan add desiccated coconut and roast it in heated pan but off flame so that it couldn’t get burnt.
- 3
Mix all three in mixing bowl and let them cool till they are warm. Now add them in a grinding jar, add Jaggery powder and cardamom powder along with them.
- 4
Run grinder or mixer for a few seconds and then stop. Check the consistency. Scrape the sides and add in the jar. You can also use the pulse option in your grinder.
- 5
Continue in the same way, till you get a consistency in the mixture, where a bit of oil releases from the sesame seeds, peanuts and coconut. Take a small portion of the mixture in your hands and then press. It should hold shape and not crumble. Don’t grind at one stretch or grind too much as then much oil will be released from the mixture.
- 6
Now take a small portion of the til ladoo mixture in your palms and begin to shape it into ladoos.
Make ladoos with the rest of the mixture.
