Ingredients

  1. 1 (8 pound)pork shoulder roast
  2. 1 quartapple cider
  3. 5 tablespoonswhite sugar
  4. 5 tablespoonslight brown sugar
  5. 2 tablespoonskosher salt
  6. 2 tablespoonspaprika
  7. 1 tablespoononion powder
  8. 1 tablespoonground pepper
  9. 1 tablespoongarlic powder
  10. 1onion chopped
  11. hickory chips

Cooking Instructions

    Combine dry ingredients in a bowl

  2. 2

    Place pork in large pot and add 1/4 cup of rub to apple cider, poor to cover roast then cover and refrigerate for 12 hours

  3. 3

    Prepare smoker to 250 degrees and add wood chips.

  4. 4

    Poor brine into water tray with chopped onion

  5. 5

    Smoke for about 12 hours until about 190 degrees

  6. 6

    Let cool for 30 minutes then shred with forks
