Dry Fruits Chikki is sweet treat particularly enjoyed during winters, made with very few ingredients.. nuts, sugar, very little ghee and cardamom powder (optional).
Steps
- 1
Cut almonds, cashew nuts and pistachios in two halves.
Grease a rolling pin and the backside of a plate with ghee and keep aside. - 2
Heat up the non-stick pan on low flame. Add halved nuts and ghee. Stirring continuously saute for a minute or two. Switch off the flame and remove in a plate.
Clean the pan properly. - 3
Heat up the sugar in a pan on low flame. Spread sugar evenly and let it start melting without stirring it. Once sugar starts melting, stir the sugar and let it melt completely to get golden brown colour sugar caramel.
- 4
Add the roasted nuts halves and cardamom powder. Mix well to coat the nuts properly with sugar caramel. Switch off the flame and immediately transfer the mixture to the greased backside of the plate.
- 5
Cardamom powder is added for extra flavour, but if you prefer you can skip it.
Immediately roll with the greased rolling pin as thin as possible. Make cut marks with knife in desired squares when warm and let it cool down completely. - 6
Remove Chikkis with the help of a knife.
Store in an airtight container and enjoy !!
