Heat oil in a pressure cooker.

Turn off the flame and add bay leaf, black cardamom, cinnamon stick, and peppercorns.

Turn on the flame. Once the dry spices start to crackle, add chopped onion. Fry till it turns golden brown.

Add ginger-garlic paste and green chili paste and saute for a minute.

Add mutton, salt, and green cardamoms. Bhuno mutton for 15 minutes.

Add chopped tomato, red chilli powder, and turmeric powder. Bhuno till oil starts to separate.

Add water and pressure cook for 15 minutes or till mutton is tender.

Once the mutton is tender, remove the lid and let it cook for another 5-7 minutes.

You can garnish it with fresh chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot with steamed rice/ chapati/ naan.
