Ingredients

30 minutes
2 people
  1. 1 piecehairy gourd
  2. 70 gKorean sweet potato noodle
  3. 5 tablespoonsspicy minced prawn paste
  4. 2 tablespoonsoyster sauce
  5. 2 tablespoonscooking oil
  6. 400 mlhot water
  7. 1 teaspoonseasoning powder

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

Presoak the noodle with hot water for 5 minutes. Drain and soak with cold water. Drain and leave aside. Use kitchen scissors to cut the strands shorter for easy cooking and eating.

  2. 2

Peel and chop the gourd to small size. This is to shorten the cooking time as the gourd take long time to soften.

  3. 3

Heat up cooking oil in frying pan with medium heat. Cook the gourd for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Add 200ml hot water. Add 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder and 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce. Cook until the gourd soften while absorbing the flavor.

  5. 5

Add about 5 tablespoons of spicy minced prawn. You can use alternative like sambal chilli sauce which is more spicy. Add 200ml hot water to replenish the lost moisture.

  6. 6

Add the sweet potato noodle. Cook for about 10 minutes to allow both the noodle and gourd to fully absorb the flavor.

  7. 7

    Ready to serve.

Love to cook and experiment with new cooking methods in addition to traditional stir fry recipes. Living in Singapore, a fantastic place to eat and experience (almost) every kind of cuisine in the world. There are 5 hawker center within my current neighborhood, I would go there for quick meal if I lazy to cook. My favorite food in hawker center include chicken rice, yong tau foo, lor mee, wanton mee, nasi lemak, cai png, bak chor mee, laksa, herbal mutton soup, ah balling, fried kway teow, curry chicken noodle, kopi O.
