Achari Chicken Masala

This one is a show-stopper for sure. It is so very yummy in taste. The colour itself describes it's beauty and the taste as well. Made with Achari masala, Lemon/Mango Pickle and some other common everyday spices which undoubtedly makes it a unique dish that can be relished with Rice as well as Parathas or simple Rotis. Can be made with Curd or tomatoes or both. This version has both of them to give the Curry its richness and taste. It is a bit on the spicy side too because i have used both Achari masala as well as the Lemon Pickle.
Undoubtedly the best way to enjoy a Curry with Chicken. It's so very flavourful and a mouthwatering dish. Goes absolutely well at Lunch and Dinner both. This is therefore a much-liked dish by both Children and adults alike. In fact my family enjoys it for a lazy late Weekend Breakfast or to say a quick Brunch just before going out on a long road trip to either a family friend's house in the other town or to the ever-famous Corniche (beach) just like Chowpatty.

Steps
- 1
In a deep wok or Kadai, heat the oil or ghee. Add the mustard seeds and the curry leaves.
- 2
Let them splutter for a while, then add the ginger garlic paste along with the chicken. Saute it for 2 to 3 minutes and then add all the masalas along with the pickle.
- 3
The masalas listed under achari masala should be roasted one by one and then powdered. Add a tablespoon of this mix into the wok. Cover and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes. Then add the whipped curd and the tomatoes. The flame should be on a low.
- 4
After we add the curd and the tomatoes, water gets released. So do not add any water and the chicken gets cooked in its own juices. The thickness of the gravy can be according to one's own wish. In about 30 to 35 minutes, it will be ready to serve.
- 5
Garnish with coriander and kasuri methi. Serve hot with rice or rotis.
