Rigatoni with Homemade Meat Sauce Rigatoni with Homemade Meat Sauce
I love to use rigatoni with meat sauce because it picks up the sauce so well! Also, I like to change my sauce ingredients depending on what I have around at the time, and what I'm in the mood for, as far as vegetables & toppings go. One thing I almost always add to my sauce is the brown sugar. The kids and I both enjoy the sweetness in the sauce. You can make this into a cheesy sauce by adding parmesan and/or other cheeses and even cream. You can make this into a savory & spicy sauce by adding crushed red pepper and/or other hot peppers. You can add vegetables to the sauce to make a "garden medley." And, you can even make this with vegan meat! Of course sauce will always get better the longer it simmers with the ingredients. This is made quick for dinner. However, if your heart is truly in making the sauce you can continue to simmer it for a few hours or even slow cook it in a crockpot. #pasta #pastasauce #meatsauce #spaghettisauce #pastanight #italiannight Chef Mommy Nessa -
Chicken with veggies in peanut curry sauce Chicken with veggies in peanut curry sauce
I love Thai peanut sauce, but I don't always have the ingredients like fish sauce or red curry paste that other recipes call for. So this is my Indo-Thai version. Stephanie Sanchez -
Sweet and Sour Sauce for Egg Foo Yong Sweet and Sour Sauce for Egg Foo Yong
Ever since I was a child, I liked to putter around in the kitchen. Sometimes I watched my late mom cooking. Most of the time she asked me to do this and that. I can still hear her voice telling me to peel or chop something. Growing up, I was blessed with a warm family and a home full of delicious dishes. My mother was always cooking something. Spicy rendang, stir-fry, seafood dishes, oh, how I'the love to return to that state of bliss when my parents were still alive and we could have a normal dinner together, chatting about mundane stuff.I am grateful for those memories. Now I am passing them to my kids. They are no stranger in the kitchen and in a way I am happy because my mother would love this.I learned (and am still learning) cooking by trial and error. The internet has opened my eyes to plenty of food around the world, but sometimes I yearn for the familiar, like this sweet and sour sauce. Being an Asian, we naturally collect tomato and chili sauce sachets from take-outs so we always have some around the house.#givingthanks Angela Mertoyono -

Meatballs in tomato and coconut sauce Meatballs in tomato and coconut sauce
I'm pretty sure that my ability to cook is one of the keys to my marriage. In fact, I'm not 100% certain my wife would've agreed to marry me if it weren't for my passion for food and cooking. Still, that doesn't mean she doesn't occasionally have her doubts. Like when I told her I was going to make meatballs with tomato and coconut sauce for dinner. At first she assumed it'd be a curry, and when I told her it wouldn't be she simply said "it sounds a little weird." Fortunately the dish worked out (pretty brilliantly, actually), and both she and our daughter are believers once again. Robert Gonzal -

Tagliatelle and chicken in vodka sauce Tagliatelle and chicken in vodka sauce
Bon Appetit's rigatoni with easy vodka sauce recipe is one of my go-to favourites. Most importantly, because it's really delicious. Also, as it says right in the name, it's super easy to make. It's pretty amazing what a handful of basic ingredients and a shot of potato booze can create. Anyway, I decided to make it again for dinner, with a couple of modifications. First, because I didn't want to have to cook a separate meat dish to go with it, I added chicken which I fried in the pan before making the sauce. Second, I swapped the rigatoni with tagliatelle, because I prefer longer noodles. Changes aside, it turned out as delicious as always. Robert Gonzal -

Meatball Soup with an Egg-Lemon Sauce (Giouvarelakia me Augolemono) Meatball Soup with an Egg-Lemon Sauce (Giouvarelakia me Augolemono)
My mom asked me yesterday what I was thinking of posting for my next recipe this week, I had decided that I was going to make Giouvarelakia – Greek Meatball Soup. We had taken out all the ingredients, set them on the counter, but before I could start cooking I had a few things to do. When I finally went to the kitchen, to my surprise my mom went ahead and did everything from combining the ingredients to cooking the soup.. So, this means I have no other pictures than the featured image to show how this is prepared. I do apologise. 🙂This is a lovely, warm winter soup that combines beef, rice, dill and many more ingredients, that will satisfy that hungry feeling when your coming in from the cold. It has been rather cold here and what else better to eat than soups. 🙂 This one though is different because it also has that tasty addition of lemon juice which just gives each spoonful a WOW taste. (I was going to write a WOW factor but I think that would be a bit too much) hahaha Foodzesty -
