Ingredients

Serves 5 servings
  1. 2.2 poundscarrots (about 1 kg)
  2. 2 cupswhole milk (about 500 ml)
  3. 1/2 cuphomemade cream (malai)
  4. 1 cupsweetened condensed milk
  5. 3 tablespoonssugar (about 1/4 small bowl)
  6. 1/4 teaspooncardamom powder
  7. 3 tablespoonsghee (about 1/4 small bowl)
  8. 1/2 cupmixed cashews, almonds, and raisins, chopped

    Gather all the ingredients for the halwa. Wash and clean the carrots, peel them, and grate them.

    Turn on the stove and pour the milk into a large pan. Bring it to a boil, then add the grated carrots. Cook until the carrots are soft and most of the milk has evaporated.

    Add the sugar and condensed milk. Mix well and continue to cook, stirring, until the milk is absorbed.

    Add the ghee and mix. Then add the cardamom powder and finely chopped nuts and raisins. Mix well, turn off the heat, and transfer to a bowl. Garnish with chopped cashews.

    Serve warm in a serving bowl.
