This recipe makes a large portion, so try it with half the amount first. You don't have to use cinnamon, but it will make them more festive. Bring the butter to room temperature or microwave on low to soften. Add the ingredients in the listed order while mixing.

Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until 2-3 mm thick while dusting with flour. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and place on a baking sheet.
