Sift and mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, cocoa, and salt. Do not include the sugar.

Mix the wet ingredients: eggs, oil, vanilla extract, and sugar, and beat for 3 minutes.

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients and combine. Optional: add walnuts or chocolate chips.

Bake at 350° F for 18-20 minutes.
