Falafel is a traditional Middle Eastern deep fried Patty shaped fritter made with either Chickpeas Broad beans or both. These are made with a ground coarse paste made with the above. They are crispy on the outside and soft and herby on the inside.
Made easily with a few selected ingredients, these make for an excellent option for a worthwhile and great Snack.
Topped up with the Middle Eastern Herb Sumac after frying makes that unique difference to these little beauties. Sumac is sprinkled generously on these immediately after frying so that they get coated with them while they are still piping hot.
Relish these yummy Fritters on any given day with your loved ones and families at Tea-time. You will just love these melt in the mouth, soft, super spongy, and fluffy Falafel to the core.

Steps
- 1
Wash and soak dry chickpeas in enough water overnight. It is important to do so. Next day, blend it to a little bit of coarse paste. Add green chillies, onion, parsley, or coriander leaves and Salt to it while doing so. Mix well and keep aside. The batter should be thick. Therefore use water accordingly. I added some sesame seeds and sumac in the batter.
- 2
Drop small balls of the batter into the hot Oil on medium-high heat. Deep fry until golden brown and crisp.
- 3
Serve these excellently done falafel with hummus Dip for a super yummy snack at tea-time or shaam ki chai. Enjoy!
