Prepare the marinade: Coarsely pound garlic, black pepper, and cilantro roots together and set aside.

Prepare the chicken: Wash the chicken thighs and drumsticks thoroughly, drain in a colander, and make a few slits along the bone.

Marinate the chicken with the pounded garlic, pepper, and cilantro roots. Add oyster sauce, palm sugar, seasoning sauce, light soy sauce, and seasoning powder.
