Matar Paneer with Frozen Peas

Cut the paneer into cubes. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a skillet and lightly fry the paneer cubes. Remove and set aside in a bowl.

Make a paste of onion, ginger, and garlic. Finely chop the green chilies. Cut the potatoes into cubes as well.

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in the skillet. Add 1 tablespoon cumin seeds and dried red chilies, then add the potatoes and fry. Once the potatoes are lightly fried, add the onion-ginger-garlic paste and mix well.

Add turmeric, coriander-cumin powder, salt, and 1 tablespoon sugar. Mix well and cook on low heat. Add the frozen peas and mix thoroughly.

After 4-5 minutes, when the spices are cooked, add 1 1/2 cups water (about 350 ml), cover, and cook on low heat. Stir occasionally and check if the vegetables are cooked.

Once the peas and potatoes are cooked, add the paneer and 1/2 cup water (about 120 ml). Cook until slightly saucy. Remove from heat, add 1 tablespoon butter on top, and mix.
