Sago plays a very important role in fasting / vrat . A lot of sweet & savory recipes are made using sago .
Apart from this ,it can be used for baking , mixed with water &used to make desserts.But it has very little nutritional value & little proteins & a few vitamins and minerals.

How to make sago flour ?➡️ Take sago pearls in a pan, dry roast them on slow flame for 5 minutes. Cool completely. Now take the roasted sago pearls (leaving aside 2 tb.sp) in a small mixer jar & grind them to fine powder. Store this powder in an airtight container & use as required.

Sago flour wadas : In a large bowl take sago flour,sago pearls that were kept aside, grated potatoes, coarsely crushed peanut powder, black pepper powder, green chilli -ginger paste, lemon juice, powdered sugar & salt. Add chopped coriander.

Mix everything very well to form a dough like consistency.

Make equal size flat round tikkis from it.

Heat oil & deep fry these tikkis, few at a time,till golden. Remove them on kitchen paper. Serve hot tikkis with spicy peanut dip.

Spicy peanut dip : Take peanut powder,green chillies, ginger, coriander, lemon juice, sugar & salt & grind it in a mixer jar. Add fresh curds & grind again. Take it out in a bowl & serve with any farali / vrat items.

Serve wadas that are soft on the inside & crispy outside. Enjoy your Navratri fast with these wadas with spicy peanut dip.
